Circularity is a set of production and recycling practices that enable us to find the parts and raw materials we need for solar projects right here in the United States. Our McNeal Solar Farm in Cochise County, #Arizona, includes a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), but what exactly are the implications of this feature for our partners on the McNeal Solar Farm, SSVEC , and their members? This new 80 megawatt-hour (MWh) battery storage system allows SSVEC to store additional solar energy in excess of the electricity that is fed from our panels into the grid in real time. As well as helping SSVEC to meet increasing load demand and to power needs of more than 3,000 households across southeastern Arizona, the battery storage system also allows for greater flexibility as to when and how much solar energy is deployed throughout the day and into the evening. As SSVEC CEO Jason Bowling said, "The McNeal solar and battery storage project allows SSVEC to increase the amount of affordable, renewable energy for our members, while supporting system reliability and promoting energy independence." We're excited to have this technology up and running in the service of our neighbors in Arizona and we can't wait to develop it further on future projects. #MakingSolarDoMore
